Purpose:
|
To evaluate the efficacy and safety ofbrachytherapy for Treatment Of Retinoblastoma
|

Methods:
|
We retrospectively reviewed the clinical records of all patients undergoing brachyt therapy for retinoblastoma between 2002 and2012 in Rassoul Akram Hospital.
|

Results:
|
39 retinoblastoma in 37 eyes of 36 patients underwent plaque radiotherapy. Mean follow up duration was 83.1.Three eyes were enucleated . 5-years globe survival was 82.5%-99% (confidence interval 95%).In the preserved eyes mean log Mar of visual acuity was 0.7 (0-1.9).

Conclusion:
|
Ru-106 brachytherapy is an useful modality in treatment of retinoblastoma, even in patients with vitreous or subretinal seeding
